Hi everybody!
Welcome to the new website for all things MaineLAN and LAN party related! Please register with your LAN party game names so the transition from the digital world to the real world is as smooth as possible for new comers. I made this site as a request from Stillcrazy as she wants to try to get sponsors and flesh out the group some more with some new faces. In order to do this, we needed an official website.
For that, I decided Drupal had everything I wanted, and seemed easier to use and add data to than TinyPortal that we have tied into our forums on 3rd-shift.net. I will definitely still maintain 3rd-shift as our community to discuss everything aside from the LAN parties. I'll probably even post the LAN parties in the usual thread until everyone gets cozy to the transition. I kept the forums minimal here as I didn't want to recreate the community we already have going on 3rd-shift.
As you will immediately notice, I started filling in some material for our website. The last couple of events are uploaded in the form of photo galleries. We have Books as our article system. Check out the menu at the top, and test out the different sections and let me know if I am missing something in the LAN Parties section.
Regarding Moderators and Contributors, I want to keep the Chiefs to Indians ratio in a range that makes sense. We'll have voting or something to choose them once everyone has registered that wants to. You don't have to register to view the information, but it is more fun to participate, don't you think?
So, welcome old friends and potential newcomers alike! We've been LAN Partying since around 1999, here's to many more years.
