Popinski LAN a success!

The Popinski LAN of September 2008 was a success.  We got a boatload of prizes and the biggest turnout we have ever had.  We even had strangers come in off the street on our backroad.  Crazy!

We had a Super Smash Bros. tournament on the Wii, when the largest crowd was here.  Brent, one of the many new guys to our LAN, won a grab bag of Wii and DS paraphernalia.  Maj. Apathy and Popinski were the first out. (Click Read more to get the rest of the events...)

There was also a Counter-Strike: Source game.  The top players on the winning team was Longshanks at first place winning the nVidia GeForce 9600 GT 512 MB, Popinski coming in at second place winning the Thermaltake heatsink and Maj. Apathy followed the rear at third place taking a few items from the table, a coffee mug, lanyard and a Rockband guitar strap.

Killer4007 was first place on the losing team and kicked the most ass in Day of Defeat: Source.  Also, we gave Muffynman the carry case for his computer since he schlepps his gear down the street from his house since he has yet to get a car. ...and he deserved honorable mention for his overall game prowess.

Narkaleptic wins the Unreal Tournament 2004 game, bringing home 2 sticks of Ballistix  RAM.

During non-tournament time, we played plenty of Battlefield 2, Counter-Strike: Source and Unreal Tournament.  We even hopped in to compete with the new Geometry Wars Evolved 2 on XBox Live! Arcade.

Since we had so many extra prizes and swag, we'll be giving them out at our next LAN party in December.

Thanks to those who were able to come!
